Labyrinth seals LER, contact-free sealing is achieved. They are therefore suitable for high speeds. The O-ring made from NBR that is pressed in between the labyrinth ring and shaft is suitable for temperatures up to 100 °C. Labyrinth seals allow shaft misalignment of up to 0.3 deg in both directions and are suitable for grease lubrication. If necessary, the labyrinth can be relubricated. For this purpose, a lubrication hole must be made in the upper housing section for each labyrinth seal. The optimum positions are indicated by cast-in pilot holes on the top of the housing. Labyrinth seals for standard shaft diameters are included in the scope of delivery of a housing of universal design.
